Where Women Create

I have just discovered this brand new blog, Where Women Create - the sub title is "Inspiring Work Spaces of Extraordinary Women".
This is the blog of the Editor of the US magazine by the same name. It is just too delicious, all wrapped up with creative inspiration as well.

I don't think I can subscribe to the magazine ... international postage and all that. But I am certainly going to enjoy reading the blog and seeing the wonderful creative spaces that so many artistic women have made for themselves. What an inspiration!

I can't wait

to see what creative things happen with the fabric I am sending out!

I couldn't decide - you are all so talented! So I let random.org do the choosing for me, and it generated numbers 1 and 6. Commenters 1 and 6 are SallyAnne and Christine of BonTons.

Congratulations, ladies, I will be sending you messages to get postal addresses to send out your fat quarter!

Don't forget to check back in a couple of weeks, to see the tutorials from SallyAnne and Christine! They will also be listed at Totally Tutorials.

Dear Postman... I LOVE you ....

Oh, Mr Postman, you are the most wonderful person who comes to my house....

and today he brought the new Amy Butler 'Love' range of fabrics! YUMMM!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a sneak peek..... you will have to come over to Fabric Fusion to see them all!

Drumroll......

Thank you to all the creative people who entered the 'Name This Handbag' Competition!

I have decided to call the new design .... Sweet Candy Basket

This is an amalgamation of entries by Esther (EthanZachEmma) and PJ (Unpicking Is the Pits), so congratulations ladies, you are both winners! Let me know if you prefer 50% off the purchase price, or the pdf pattern to create your own Sweet Candy Basket!

There are 2 different styles of Sweet Candy Basket available ready made at Sasha Sews right now. The pdf pattern, and kits that will include all your fabric cut to size, magnetic snap, and everything else you need to make your own, will be available at both Sasha Sews and Fabric Fusion, very soon.

Thanks again... and I am back to the drawing board with another idea, so look out for another request for your creative names.

A brand new design... needs a name!

I have been muttering, unpicking, more muttering, and staying up late to get this brand new design of handbag just how I had it pictured in my head. And here it is!

But the style needs a name! It is such a sweet little handbag - Hubby suggested 'Strawberries and Cream', and I thought 'Chocolate Box'. But I am sure there are far more creative names than that, so here is the competition.... leave a comment, with your suggestion for a name for this style of bag. The winner will be my favourite name, and I will announce the winner on Monday night (Australian time).

The prize will be your choice of either 50% off the purchase price of this bag, OR the pdf pattern, free, to make it yourself!

Remember, it is the style / shape that I need a name for - this bag will be made up in lots of delicious designer fabrics (.... mmmm..... like the new Amy Butler 'Love' range that will be on my doorstep very very soon....), so the colour and print will be variable.

Don't forget to leave an email address or other way to contact you! Thanks, I can't wait to see your creativity!!

Oh, and if you can't wait and have to own it straight away..... check them out at my handmade shop www.SashaSews.etsy.com !

Hoo Hoo ....

Aren't these the sweetest little creatures? Owls On Trees print fabric, by Saffron Craig, has arrived at my door, and in the shop!

The motifs are approximately 4" across, and well spaced, so this would make perfect fabric to use for an applique project.

Available in scarlet on white, and brand new colour, chocolate on white.

I also have a fat quarter bundle, of both these owl prints, together with the Ginkgo Blossom, also by Saffron Craig. Have these cute little fellows delivered right to your door!

(Currently only listed in my Etsy shop - http://www.fabricfusion.etsy.com/ They will go live in the Zibbet shop soon).

And.... Voi'la!

Here is what all of those lovely lacy things became. I am not sure this photo does it justice, and I didn't take any more of the others, before taking them all off to Country Touches, where the shop owner adored them, and they are hanging up right now. Maybe I could go in with a hidden camera, to photograph them 'in situ', so to speak!
